FAQ’s
What are Fillers made from?
Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance within the body, which with age reduces, therefore reduces fullness and plumpness within the face, allowing for lines, wrinkles and reduced fullness.
What product do you use?
I typically will choose Belotero, which intensity will depend on outcome of consultation. However, if you have a product preference or I feel another product would better suit you, then this is fine also.
Can I have Fillers while pregnant or breastfeeding?
It is not advised and to work in the best interest of my patients I would not do this.
What happens when the filler wears off?
you lips will return to the normal shape and fullness they were before the treatment. You can have them topped up as frequently or infrequently as you feels necessary (within reason).
How long do fillers last?
anything between 4-6 months, depending on the individual. the amount of exercise you do, water you drink or how fast your metabolism works are all variables on how long your filler will last.
What are the side effects?
Main side effects include bruising, redness and swelling of the area. all of which can be reduced with ice and arnica cream after the treatment has been done. This will go within a few days. Allergic or hypersensitivity reactions are very rare, but all of these potential risks will be covered fully in consultation and while filling out the consent forms.
Will it be painful?
Again this varies from person to person, some people will tolerate the treatment better than others. I will always numb the area before we start and where possible, use a product with an anaesthetic in to reduce any discomfort.
